Police make burglary, armed robbery arrests
Friday, May 27, 2016  ::   Oak Park Police made seven arrests in two days this week, putting a dent in the criminal element targeting not only Oak Park for burglaries and robberies, but River Forest and Berwyn as well.
Construction to close Chicago Avenue
Thursday, May 26, 2016  ::   Construction is underway for a sewer and street repair project that will cause closures along Chicago Avenue for much of the summer. During the first phase of construction, Chicago Avenue will be completely closed from Ridgeland Avenue to Scoville/Fair Oaks Avenue.

Monday, May 16, 2016  ::   Oak Park Police are asking the public to be on the lookout for a man who reportedly exposed himself to a young jogger early Sunday evening. The suspect's description of the man is similar to one given after a report of public indecency on Feb. 22.

Body in library bathroom identified
Thursday, April 14, 2016  ::   The body of a man found Monday morning in a bathroom at the main branch of the Oak Park Public Library has been identified as that of Todd Leslie, 48. His last known address was the 7500 block of Brown Avenue in Forest Park. Cause of death has not yet been determined, but foul play is not suspected.
Four charged in car jacking
Monday, April 11, 2016  ::   Two men and two male juveniles from Chicago were charged in connection with hijacking a car from two senior citizens at about 5 p.m., Thurs., April 7 in 700 block of North Grove Ave. The carjackers were arrested within minutes of the incident, thanks to the quick action of the victims and their ability to identify the suspects in a street line up after they were captured less than three miles away.
