The Park District of Oak Park re-opened Scoville Park in early June following a 10-month renovation project. The newly restored park features new pathways, tennis courts, a stage area, a new plaza surrounding the Peace Triumphant Monument, a new tot lot and over 70 new trees. About 75 percent of the renovation was funded through an Illinois Department of Natural Resources PARC Grant, according to the park district.
Residents and community members were invited to celebrate the grand re-opening with a ceremony on June 1. Click here to view a gallery of photos from the celebration on Facebook.
