Sept. 21, 2022 - Oak Park Police responded at around 5:45 p.m. Tuesday to reports of shots fired in the vicinity of Ridgeland Avenue and Ontario Street.
According to witnesses, a gray sedan was stopped in the westbound lane of Ontario at Ridgeland when the driver of a white sedan pulled up alongside, leaned out the window and began firing in the direction of the gray sedan. The offending vehicle then fled northbound on Ridgeland Avenue.
The driver of the gray sedan was uninjured but requested to be taken to an area hospital due to the duress caused by the incident.
A second victim that was stopped behind the gray sedan during the incident sustained a graze wound to the hip but refused medical treatment.
The driver of the white sedan is described as a male in his late 20s or early 30s wearing a white t-shirt.
