In describing Oak Park, Senior Travel Writer Rachel Kapelke-Dale wrote for Travel Lemming:

"At first glance, you may think that Oak Park is nothing more than an affluent suburb of Chicago. But it’s so much more.

Stunningly beautiful, Oak Park is the birthplace of American author Ernest Hemingway. Meanwhile, prominent architect Frank Lloyd Wright lived and worked here. A casual stroll around the suburb will take you past numerous examples of his work.

Come in the fall to watch or run in the Frank Lloyd Wright races. These 5K, 10K, and youth mile races weave through some of the suburb’s most notable architecture."

Oak Park is a thriving community of about 54,500 people located immediately west of the City of Chicago and known for its architectural heritage and diverse population. Within its 4.7 square miles live one of the region's most diverse mixes of cultures, races, ethnicities, professions, lifestyles, religions, ages and incomes.

Some of the notable attractions within Oak Park's borders include the Oak Park Conservatory, Ernest Hemingway Birthplace Museum, Frank Lloyd Wright's Home and Studio and Unity Temple, a Wright-designed structure that was names a UNESCO World Heritage site and National Historic Landmark. Oak Park also boasts 12 bustling business districts featuring independently owned restaurants, breweries, boutiques, health and fitness studios, and more.
