June 11, 2019 – A 56-year-old Oak Park man died early this morning from injuries sustained when he was struck by a vehicle on Ridgeland Avenue just north of Garfield Street shortly before 9 p.m., last night.
According to the preliminary investigation, the vehicle, driven by a 69-year-old Oak Park woman, was traveling south on Ridgeland Avenue when the accident occurred.
The pedestrian, whose name has not been released pending notification of next of kin, was transported to Loyola Medical Center in Maywood where he died at about 2 a.m. this morning.
The driver of the vehicle was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
