Property owners who receive a letter from the Village asking them to call a private vendor or visit the company’s website to set up an appointment to replace a water meter are urged to respond promptly.
The 30-minute process does not require any plumbing changes although the water will be turned off during the upgrade. The new meters allow for remote reading of water usage.
More than 4,100 meters have been replaced since 2010. The Village is well on its way to installing nearly 1,000 new water meters this year.
