Property owners who sign a pledge to adopt natural lawn care practices can request a special yard sign to let the community know about their commitment to eliminating synthetic chemicals from the environment. Pledge forms and signs are available from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday at the Public Works Center, 201 South Blvd. The pledge and signs are part of an educational program created by the volunteers of the Environment & Energy Commission to reduce the use of herbicides and pesticides that may harm beneficial plants and insects, and affect neighbors who may be sensitive to such products. For more information on the pledge program, call 708.358.5700 or email publicworks@oak-park.us. Visit www.oak-park.us/gonatural for tips and information on how to have an all-natural lawn.
